I don't really have a mission statement here, but for now I will be posting my occasional thoughts on subjects I tend to think about a lot (literature/music/film, US politics and culture, life in general) and my hope is to eventually synthesize some of these ideas into longer-form essays. Few people will read this, possibly no one at all; still I feel compelled to write as if I have an audience.
